Educational opportunities are ongoing at United Church of Wayland.

Education classes are offered each Sunday during our 10 am worship.  Pre-schoolers through grade 6 attend worship with their parents and are dismissed after Children's Time.   Our youngest children learn in a Montessori setting in our Children's Worship Center.  Stories are shared using wooden figures or felt materials in Golden Parable Boxes.  The children respond using a wide variety of art mediums.  They also learn about care of creation and peace-making.

Separate classes are offerd for our youth in grades 5-6.  

Youth in grades 7-12 meet immediately following worship during Coffee Hour to discuss the day's message and ask any questions they might have.

Our Director of Children's Ministries is Ms. Christyl Burnett-Evans who has an extensive background in religious education and is a graduate of Grand Valley State University.  She is a talented potter and artist who adds great gentleness and caring to our children's ministry.  She also assists in planning for new worship experiences.

Adult Education Experiences

Classes for adults are offered at various times throughout the year.  There is usually a six-week program in the Fall that is offered on Sunday mornings as well as a week day or evening.  We offer a study throughout Lent.  We have an ongoing discussion group that meets each Tuesday at 11 am at Daily Brews.  It is called Coffee & ??     All are invited to bring their questions and together we will search for guidance.

Special programs for specific topics as one day events happen at various times each year.
